My name is Amelle, and I’m a writer, reader, habitual film re-watcher, and full-time romantic. I’m a pisces sun, sag moon, and virgo rising, and my venus is in capricorn—do what you will with that information. I live off of an unhealthy amount of chai and diet coke. When I’m not solving the world’s problems at work, I’m often curled up on the couch or at a museum. Basically, I'm just a girl, standing in front of the internet, asking you all to love me.

Why This Matters?

The Lover’s Digest was created as a cultural love letter to romance in all its forms. I wanted to create a space here on the internet that is dedicated to celebrating and examining the art of love across all mediums of storytelling. I think love deserves better! And that means better conversations and critique; particularly, one that is rooted in critical theory. To keep it simple: love is important! It’s how we connect to each other, and most importantly, ourselves. And above all, it’s fun as hell. Regardless of what people say, loving the romance genre is not fluff and we have years of social history to prove it.
